Friday’s Best 2026 World Cup Picks & Predictions
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Australia (+270) vs. Egypt (+135) | Draw (+185) | O/U 2.5 (-172/+140)
Australia secured the second spot in Group D, the same group as co-host nation USA. Meanwhile, Egypt was on the verge of the top spot in Group G, but it drew with Iran in the final match, while Belgium blew the doors off New Zealand in the finale, so Egypt had to settle for second place.
We get the Socceroos and the Pharaohs battling for a spot in the Round of 16. Australia has had a rather conservative offense, amassing just two goals in three group matches. Meanwhile, superstar Mo Salah and Egypt are a little more high-octane offensively, as Trézéguet is also a stud on offense.
It’s a good idea to back Egypt on the 3-way Moneyline, while playing no on the ‘both teams to score’ prop. Take a shot on the under, too, as goals should be difficult to come by in this Round of 32 battle. At plus-money, it’s a tempting play.
Picks: Egypt 3-way Moneyline (+135), Under 1.5 Goals (+148) & Both Teams to Score - No (-154)
Argentina (-800) vs. Cape Verde (+2200) | Draw (+700) | O/U 2.5 (-172/+140)
The No. 2 team in the FIFA Men’s World Ranking, and the defending World Cup champs, take on debutante and surprise Round of 32 participant Cape Verde, ranked 64th. This should be a rather lopsided affair.
The incomparable Lionel Messi scored six goals in group play, while Cape Verde managed just two total goals in three matches, including a pair of scoreless draws. While Cape Verde keeper Vozinha shut down Spain in a scoreless opener, don’t expect Lionel Messi and company to have similar struggles.
Backing Argentina straight up will cost you eight times your potential return, so let’s find other avenues for a payday. Argentina won just nine corners in the first three matches, with six of them coming against Jordan in the group finale on June 27th. Let’s go with a corner match bet of under eight corners.
We’ll also roll with Argentina to get the job done by at least three goals in this lopsided matchup, while going high on the total.
Picks: Argentina -2.5 (+132), Under 2.5 Goals (-172), Under 8 Corners (+155), Both Teams to Score - No (-235) & Argentina to Win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 (+105)
Colombia (-240) vs. Ghana (+800) | Draw (+330) | O/U 2.5 (+108/-132)
Colombia held off Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal for the top spot in Group K, posting seven points while netting four goals with one conceded. Ghana finished third in Group L, posting a 1-1-1 mark with two goals scored in a group that also featured England and Croatia.
While Colombia had four goals, three of them came against cellar-dweller Uzbekistan in the opening match, with a 1-0 win over Congo DR and a scoreless draw against Portugal.
For Ghana, it opened with a 1-0 victory over Panama, before playing to a scoreless draw against England. It finished group play with a 2-1 setback to Croatia. Derrick Luckassen and Caleb Yirenkyi accounted for the only two goals in group play.
We’ll take Colombia to shut down Ghana, as neither team is expected to find the back of the net. Taking Colombia to win either 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 is a strong option at plus-money.
Picks: Ghana +1.5 (-156), Both Teams to Score - No (-186), Under 2.5 Goals (-132) & Colombia to Win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 (+130)
