New York Knicks (+114) at Cleveland Cavaliers (-135) | O/U 213.5 (-110/-110)

The Knicks and Cavaliers shift venues from Madison Square Garden in New York to Rocket Arena in Cleveland for Game 3. The Cavaliers hope that will also lead to a shift in luck, too, as Cleveland had very little of it in Games 1 and 2.

The Cavaliers created their own issues late in Game 1. There is no reason Cleveland shouldn’t have closed out the series opener, and it held a 22-point lead with just under eight minutes to go in regulation. It had to settle for a trip to overtime, but nearly everyone knew how that was going to turn out.

Cleveland had zero momentum heading into overtime, and New York put it to them, outscoring the Cavaliers 14-3 in the extra session for the miracle win on the Moneyline and the unexpected cover. We also had an over result that should never have been. The over cashed by a half-point to one point at most shops. Had Cleveland done just slightly better down the stretch, under bettors would have cashed the winner they deserved.

In Game 2, it was a fairly even first half, with the Knicks holding a slight 53-49 advantage at the break. But, New York came out of the locker room on fire, outscoring Cleveland 32-21 in front of a raucous home crowd. Eventually, the Knicks closed out a 109-93 win and cover, as the under (215.5) came through this time.

Cleveland shot just 39% (31-of-80) from the field, while New York was 52% (44-of-85). On threes, the Knicks shot 36% (13-of-36), while the Cavaliers shot only 26% (9-of-35), with most of the failures from long distance coming in the second half.

Neither team was very good at the free-throw line, as New York was just 57% (8-of-14), while Cleveland was 69% (22-of-32). Still, the Cavaliers can’t afford to leave that many free points on the court, especially on the road.

The Cavaliers did outrebound the Knicks by two in Game 2, so that’s a positive to build on, but New York dominated with a 32-15 margin in assists, while going +1 in steals, and even in blocks.

Both teams turned it over just eight times, which was a refreshing change for Cleveland after coughing it up 21 times in Game 1, including six by James Harden. The Knicks dominated with a 58-40 margin in points in the pain, too.

For this game, we’re going to trust Cleveland. They’re 6-1 straight up (SU) and 5-2 against the spread (ATS) at home this postseason. And, let’s go high on the total, too.

If you’re looking for Cavaliers player props, it’s all about scoring and Donovan Mitchell. Win or lose, he is going to show up. He is averaging 27.5 points per game in this series, after averaging 28.1 points in the last series against the Detroit Pistons and 23.1 points in the first round against Toronto.

In the postseason, Mitchell is averaging 25.9 points, 5.1 rebounds per game and 3.1 assists per game. Let’s back him to go over 35+ combined points + rebounds + assists in a must-win game.

For the Knicks, Jalen Brunson has six or more assists in five consecutive outings, while hitting that mark in seven of the past eight games. That’s a no-brainer prop play, although don’t play it straight, as you would need to risk over three times your potential return.

New York Knicks (+114) at Cleveland Cavaliers (-135) | O/U 213.5 (-110/-110)

If you want to kick up your return, add James Harden to get at least one steal. He had two in Game 2, and he has at least one steal in 12 of the past 13 playoff games dating back to Game 3 in Toronto.

Adding this Harden prop boosts the odds for a 7x return.
