With the PGA Tour set to resume in a limited fashion next month, charity events between the sport’s elite have popped up on the calendar. While all eyes are on the match between Tiger/Peyton and Brady/Mickelson set for next weekend, there’s a sneaky good event happening this Sunday.
Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy will team up for a skins game against Rickie Fowler and Matt Wolff in TaylorMade Drive Relief competition. All proceeds will go to the charity of the winner’s choice, and the event will be televised in its entirety on NBC.
Starting today, up until the first tee (scheduled for 2:00 PM EST), the team at FOX Bet is offering boosted odds on the prop bet “No Hole In One in the Match.” When a new player bets $25*, they will receive $50 if the prop cashes. This will be paid out in the form of a $25 Free Bet and will be credited on Monday, May 18th, 2020, by noon EST.
*Must have made a deposit to qualify. The promotional bet must be your first bet.
Let’s take a look at the matchup involved in this special offer.
McIlroy & D. Johnson (-225) vs. Fowler & Wolff (+175), 2:00 PM EST
On paper, this doesn’t look like it should be much of a match, as two of the most accomplished and elite players in the sport face off against Fowler and a relative newcomer to the professional ranks. One interesting angle to consider, however, is the fact that they’ll all be carrying their own bags due to social distancing. For Rory and DJ, it’s easily been 10+ years since either has carried their own bag on the course, something not as foreign to the younger Wolff.
