It’s a line I can’t pass up. Yes, Boston is the most informed team in NBA and the best in almost all defensive categories since the new calendar year. But the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic is the Nuggets’ only hope to keep the game close. All the numbers are with us. First, I liked the points, but I think the combo with assists brings the most value. He’s averaging 34.2PA for the season, with 36.4 in his L10 games. He had 23 & 11 in the only meeting with the Celtics this year.
Jonas Valanciunas OVER 27.5 Points & Rebounds -120
Averaging 29.3 for the season, 27.7 in L10, and 32.4 in L5. Jonas had 16 points and 15 rebounds in the only game against the Hawks this year. It’s a 3-point spread, so I’m hoping for a close game and enough minutes for Valanciunas. Atlanta is a below-average defensive team, and I expect JV to outplay Clint Capela.
Tyrese Haliburton OVER 7.5 ASSISTS -156
The line still available at 365, and it’s playable up to 8.5, but with a lower stake. 7.8apg for the season, but the numbers increase even more since his trade to the Pacers. 8.4 in L10 and 8.8 in L5. The Blazers are 29th in defensive efficiency and also 29th in assists allowed. The game has blowout potential, but I believe Portland will keep it close enough for a few fourth-quarter minutes and dimes for Haliburton.
