It's a full slate in Major League Baseball today with all 30 teams in action and 16 games in total. There are a lot of interesting divisional matchups on the schedule, with the Brewers going for the sweep against the Pirates, the White Sox taking on the Guardians in a doubleheader, the Angels facing the Astros, and the Rangers squaring off against the Mariners. Here are a few team totals that I'm eyeing for today's action:

Los Angeles Angels O/U 4.5 Total Runs
Shohei Ohtani toes the rubber for the Angels in the rubber match while the Astros turn to Jake Odorizzi to handle the starting pitching responsibilities. First pitch is set for 6:40 ET in this A.L. West matchup at Minute Maid Park tonight.
Jake Odorizzi is 0-1 to start the season with a 6.48 ERA and 2.04 WHIP over two starts. Most recently, he faced the Mariners on Friday night and allowed four earned runs over 4.1 innings of work. Odorizzi faced the Angels in his season debut this year, and allowed two earned runs on six hits in a 13-6 win.
I like the Angels to exceed their team total tonight as they're familiar with Odorizzi, having faced him in 48 at-bats. Over the 48 at-bats, Los Angeles slashed .275/.411/.304 against the right-hander with two extra-base hits. Overall on the season, the Halos are the fifth-ranked offense in OPS at .769 and they have the fourth-highest batting average at .258. Give me the Angels to score at least five runs tonight.

Toronto Blue Jays O/U 4.5 Total Runs
The Red Sox took game one of the three-game set last night by a final score of 2-1 at Fenway. The Jays will look to bounce back tonight as they send Jose Berrios to the hill while the Red Sox counter with Nick Pivetta. First pitch for game two of the series is set for 7:10 ET in Boston.
Nick Pivetta hasn't had a great start to the season, posting an 0-2 record over two starts with an ERA of 9.39. The right-hander was only serviceable for 2.0 innings last time out against the Twins, allowing four earned runs on five hits and two walks.
Toronto has faced Pivetta in 67 at-bats and they've posted a slash line of .254/.282/.459 against him with five home runs and six doubles. Bo Bichette is 7-14 with four extra-base hits, Cavan Biggio is 4-10 with three extra-base hits, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is 4-14 with two extra-base hits. I like the Blue Jays' offense to bounce back tonight and do some damage against Pivetta in game two. Take the over on their team total in Boston tonight.

Seattle Mariners O/U 4.0 Total Runs
We'll finish up the action on the west coast tonight, where the Mariners host the Rangers in game two of their three-game series at T-Mobile Park. The Mariners won 6-2 last night and will look to keep it rolling as they send Logan Gilbert to the mound. The Rangers will go with Dane Dunning, as they look to get back into the win column.
Dane Dunning is 0-0 over two starts this season with a 5.19 ERA and 1.73 WHIP. The right-hander allowed two earned runs over just 3.2 innings when he took the ball on Thursday night against the Angels. He allowed six hits and walked two batters in the 86-pitch outing.
There isn't a huge sample size for head-to-head stats between Dunning and the Mariners, but the current Seattle lineup is 5-12 against Dane with five singles. Dunning has struggled away from home in his career, and last year specifically. Over 12 starts in 2021, the hurler went 0-7 with a 6.39 ERA and hitters posted a .299 batting average against him. I like the Mariners to get the Dunning early in this game and surpass four runs in this game.
