In the first game of the first doubleheader of the MLB season, the Atlanta Braves are -162 moneyline road favorites over the Nationals, per BettingPros consensus odds.

Betting Impact:

Atlanta Braves starter Max Fried finished fifth in the Cy Young voting last year and has ranked second in the National League in wins in each of the last two seasons. He had a strong first outing, allowed two runs on six hits in five innings while striking out eight. He is opposed by Washington's Erick Fedde, who is making his first appearance of the season. Fedde has been used as a spot starter or when someone has been injured the last two seasons. He has appeared in 32 games in the last two years, but only 20 of those appearances were starts. HIs 4.29 ERA last season was the lowest of any year of his career. As a reminder, all MLB doubleheaders will remain seven inning affairs, just like they were last year.
