The Los Angeles Dodgers are -182 moneyline favorites to beat the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of the World Series, per BettingPros consensus odds.

Betting Impact:

The Dodgers will open the World Series with ace Clayton Kershaw on the mound, but his postseason struggles are well-known to bettors. In his postseason career, Kershaw is 11-12 with a 4.31 ERA. In addition, he is just 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA in his career World Series appearances. Kershaw is opposed by Tampa Bay’s Tyler Glasnow. Perhaps the reason the Rays are such big underdogs is the fact that Glasnow has allowed six home runs in 19.1 postseason innings thus far this year, and will face a Dodgers lineup that just hit 16 home runs in the NLCS which tied a single-series playoff record.
