The Chicago White Sox are activating shortstop Tim Anderson from the 10-day IL as he has not played since August 28 after dealing with a left hamstring strain. He will face the Los Angeles Angels in tonight's series opener.

Betting Impact:

The White Sox are -280 moneyline favorites, per BettingPros consensus odds. Anderson's return will be a big jolt for the White Sox lineup, as he leads the team with a .302 batting average and 17 stolen bases. The White Sox are big favorites despite losing three of their four games to the Angels this season, and five of their last six home games against them. Chicago has not yet named a starting pitcher for tonight's game, though Lucas Giolito (9-9, 3.69) could return from the COVID-19 IL. Los Angeles counters with Packy Naughton (0-1, 2.57), who is making his third start and fifth appearance of his career. The under is 12-4 in the last 16 meetings between these teams in Chicago.
