The Baylor Bears opened as 6.5 point favorites in Saturday’s Sweet 16 matchup against the Villanova Wildcats, per BettingPros consensus odds.

Betting Impact:

Though this is a matchup of a No. 1 seed vs. a No. 5 seed, Baylor and Villanova were both ranked in the top-three of the AP poll to start the year. While the Bears lived up to their expectations the entire season, the Wildcats struggled down the stretch when they lost senior point guard Collin Gillespie for the year. Villanova did not miss a beat without Gillespie in their first two tournament games, winning both by an average of 16.5 PPG. However, the Bears represent a much tougher challenge than Winthrop and North Texas. Baylor is an impressive 16-10 ATS as a favorite this season, and 5-4 ATS against ranked teams.
