The overall No. 1 seed Gonzaga Bulldogs opened as 33.5-point favorites over No. 16 seed Norfolk State, per BettingPros consensus odds.

Betting Impact:

Norfolk State has won nine of its last ten games, but are considered to be no match for the 26-0 Bulldogs. The Spartans looked dominant in the first half of their First Four game against Appalachian State, holding a 36-20 lead at the break. However, Appalachian State fought back to take the lead in the second half before Norfolk State regained the lead on two free throws with ten seconds left. Surprisingly, 64% of the bets and 60% of the early money (per FanDuel Sportsbook) is on the underdog Spartans, which means bettors think there is a chance Gonzaga takes their foot off the gas at some point. The Bulldogs were also just 1-3 ATS in their last four games entering the tournament, so there are not in the best form from a covering perspective.
