According to ESPN, MGM's director of race and sports predicted that only five percent of the 'total money that will be bet on the Super Bowl had come in at this point'. (ESPN)

Betting Impact:

With there still being more than five days before the Super Bowl, it comes as no surprise that the majority of the action has yet to come in on the Super Bowl. With that being said, the fact that the prediction is that only five percent of the expected total money has come in thus far is an eye opener. With only one game to bet on, there is always destined to be more total money wagered on that game, but the Super Bowl solicits bets from many who only place one bet a year. If this projection is to be believed, we could be in for wild swings of the consensus point spread and over/under as we get closer to the big game.
