Both the spread and the total for the AFC Championship game between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs were on the move yesterday. The spread was bet up from Chiefs -2.5 to -3, while the total ticked up from 53 to 53.5, per BettingPros consensus odds.

Betting Impact:

Both the spread going in Kansas City's favor and the over/under ticking up suggests that bettors responded to the news that Patrick Mahomes cleared certain steps necessary to getting back on the field for Sunday. In addition, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid continues to downplay a toe injury that seemed to bother Mahomes last week against Cleveland. It is looking more and more likely that Mahomes plays, and it will be interesting to see where the line and total both end up once it is made official that Mahomes will be under center. That final decision is not likely to come until later in the week.
