Both the spread and the total for the NFC Championship game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers were on the move yesterday. The spread was bet down from Packers -3.5 to -3, while the total ticked up from 50.5 to 51, per BettingPros consensus odds.

Betting Impact:

This is the first time the spread has moved since Green Bay opened as -3.5 point home favorites. It is a significant move considering the line landed on a key number of three. Oddsmakers have a different view of the Packers game this week compared to last week. Ahead of Green Bay's game against Los Angeles, the Packers were flooded with betting action, but oddsmakers kept the line steady for most of the week. However, this week the oddsmakers are more willing to move the spread early as a reaction to some Buccaneers money, as they likely to not want to be left as vulnerable needing to root for one side like they did last week. In addition, the movement for the total suggests there was immediate buyback on the over after the total was lowered slightly. This suggests the total is not likely to lower much, if at all, between now and kickoff given that bettors seemed so keen on buying back on the over at the first slightest dip.
