The Kansas City Chiefs have opened Super Bowl LV as three-point favorites over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, per BettingPros consensus odds.

Betting Impact:

It is tempting to write that the Chiefs are three-point "road favorites", considering Tampa Bay will become the first team to play in their home stadium for the Super Bowl. Thus, there are sure to be plenty of bettors on the Buccaneers that will point to the fact that the game is in Raymond James Stadium. This is Tom Brady's 10th Super Bowl appearance, and just the second time he has ever been an underdog in the big game. The first time he was an underdog was in his first ever Super Bowl appearance, when his Patriots beat the Rams outright in 2002 as 14-point underdogs. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs easily covered as 1.5-point favorites in last year's Super Bowl when they beat the 49ers 31-20. Kansas City's cover as -3.5 point favorites in the AFC Championship game was the first time they had covered a spread since their win over the Jets on 11/1.
