Cowboys spread against Washington plummets after poor MNF performance

The Dallas Cowboys had opened the week as three-point favorites over the Washington Football Team in Week 7. However, those odds have since lowered to Dallas -1.5, per BettingPros consensus odds.

Betting Impact:

The big decrease in spread is not surprising given how non-competitive the Cowboys were on Monday night. They fell behind the Cardinals 21-0 and could not move the ball offensively nor could they defend Arizona’s multi-dimensional offense. Andy Dalton was asked to throw 54 times in the loss, and is likely not a recipe that Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy wants to get used to each week. The importance of getting off to a lead is something that is likely to be stressed all week by the Cowboys coaching staff, as it will allow them to have more balance with running back Ezekiel Elliott as opposed to putting the game on Dalton’s shoulders.
