Giants expected to sign Freeman ahead of Week 3 matchup vs. 49ers

Considering the Giants lost starting running back Saquon Barkley to a torn ACL last week, it was only a matter of time before the Giants added reinforcements to their backfield. After Barkley went down last week, the only available running back left on the roster was veteran Dion Lewis as Wayne Gallman was a healthy scratch. If the Giants go through with the signing of Freeman, he is unlikely to have much of an impact in Week 3 as he needs time to learn the offense and work himself into game shape. Therefore, the line movement of the Giants from +4.5 to +4 is more indicative of the injuries San Francisco is dealing with rather than the impact Freeman will have on the Giants offense.
