After opening at 56.5 points, the over/under for the Week 7 matchup between the Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons has dropped to 55, per BettingPros consensus odds.

Betting Impact:

When it opened at 56.5 points, it was the highest total on the board at the time. However, there has been some buyback on the under and is likely a product of bettors being down on Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford's play so far. For fantasy purposes, Stafford has yet to finish as a top-12 quarterback this year. He ranks 26th in PFF passing grades and his completion percentage is down almost four percentage points from last year. Meanwhile, after back-to-back games of being held to 16 points, the Falcons offense erupted for 40 points in a win against Minnesota. A healthy Julio Jones seemed to make all the difference for Matt Ryan and this offense, as Ryan threw for 371 yards and four touchdowns. The Lions are coming off a 34-point performance of their own, and head coach Matt Patricia has likely found a bellcow running back instead of using a committee. Rookie D’Andre Swift ran for 116 yards and two touchdowns and will test the 31st-ranked Falcons defense mightily should he be given the opportunity.
