2022 Masters Betting Picks, Odds & Guide

A tradition unlike any other is now just days away, as the 2022 Masters returns in all its glory beginning on Thursday. While there will be no shortage of coverage across ESPN, CBS, and Masters.com, where the money should flow is what we’ll focus on today.

Let’s take a closer look at the course and key in on someone I think could be in contention come Sunday afternoon in Georgia.

Course Preview: Augusta National Golf Course

From the magnolia trees sprinkled throughout the property to the 11-12-13 stretch that is Amen Corner, few courses on earth are more highly regarded than Augusta National. Designed by Alistair Mackenzie and Bobby Jones, the course measures just over 7,400 yards and is a Par 72.

With ryegrass fairways and bentgrass greens, Augusta is constantly being adjusted to make the course one of the most challenging these guys see all season long. Driving accuracy is amongst the most important metrics here each season, as the fairways are lined with thick trees.

Outright Betting Picks

Justin Thomas (+1400 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
One of the best iron players and ball strikers in the world, Thomas is amongst the best mid-range players on the planet. Coming into this week, Thomas is top five on Tour in SG: Approach, Tee-to-Green, and Total and is as dialed in as any of the elite players in the field. His putting has also been dialed in. Coming into this week, Thomas ranks #8 on Tour with an overall putting average of 1.547.

Looking back at his recent play, Thomas has six top 10s in his 10 events played this season, making every cut of every tournament he has entered. And then there’s his recent track record here at Augusta.

Looking back over his last five starts at Augusta, Thomas has finished no worse than T22, knocking on the door seemingly every year here at the Masters. His best finish came in 2020, a T4, marking his second-best finish in any major. Still just 28 years of age, I think JT’s best years are still had of him, and I like for him to kick off the 2022 major season with a strong performance here at the Masters.
