2022 PGA Championship: Top Prop Bet Odds & Picks

Our second major of the 2022 PGA season is upon us as the 104th PGA Championship will get underway on Thursday. This year, Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is hosting the event for the first time since Tiger Woods won the PGA Championship in 2007.

The PGA Championship is known for the importance of iron play, so we will look at SG Tee to Green and SG Approach the Green to narrow down our bets for this event. Additionally, I looked at recent form and performance in major championships to help dial in the best bets to make.

Below, I walk through my three best prop bets for the 2022 PGA Championship. All plays below are one unit each, or 1% of your betting bankroll.

Xander Schauffele Top 20 Finish (+120)

Xander Schauffele enters this tournament in great form as he finished in fifth place last week at the AT&T Byron Nelson. Schauffele has finished in the top-20 in seven of his 12 tournaments this season.

Schauffele’s strong iron play should propel further success in this weekend’s tournament as he currently ranks 13th on TOUR in SG Tee to Green and 23rd in SG Approach the Green. Currently the #10 ranked golfer in the world, according to the OWGR, big moments have never scared Schauffele.

Making the cut in 14 of his last 16 appearances in major championships, Schauffele has fared well when competing against the world’s best golfers. Of those 14 made cuts, Schauffele has finished in the top-20 in 10 events.

Collin Morikawa Top 10 Finish (+190)

One of the world’s best golfers, Morikawa should find himself toward the top of the leaderboard in another major championship. Morikawa has made the cut eight times through nine career majors and has five top-10 finishes.

The OWGR has Morikawa as the current #3 ranked golfer in the world, which makes sense considering his recent form. Morikawa has made the cut in nine of 10 tournaments this season, finishing in the top-10 six times.

His iron play has been excellent as Morikawa currently ranks 19th on TOUR in SG Tee to Green and eighth in SG Approach the Green. Morikawa should find himself in contention for first place on Sunday with one PGA Championship victory already under his belt.

Shane Lowry Top 20 Finish (+120)

Perhaps one of the more underrated golfers on TOUR, Lowry has a top-20 finish in six of his last seven tournaments. Ranked 27th in the OWGR, Lowry has fared just as well in major championships as he has made the cut in 11 straight majors and has finished inside the top-20 in five of them.

In the Masters Tournament earlier this season, Lowry was outstanding as he finished in third place. Lowry’s strong iron play should keep him in contention in the PGA Championship as he currently ranks 24th on TOUR in SG Tee to Green and fourth in SG Approach the Green.

Best of luck!
