2022 The Open Championship Early Odds (PGA)

Just like that, only one major remains in the 2022 PGA Tour season. Golf’s future is as uncertain as it’s been in a long time, with an increasing number of golfers having defected for LIV Golf. Things will get interesting following the 2022 Open Championship, as many have serious decisions to make.

Before then, however, the 150th edition of The Open will tee off at the birthplace of golf at St. Andrews in Scotland on July 14. Let’s take a closer look at some of the favorites, according to DraftKings Sportsbook, that are most likely to bring home the win.

Top Open Championship Odds

Rory McIlroy (+900 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Including the U.S. Open, which he was in contention for late, Rory McIlroy has five top-10 finishes in his last six starts, including an outright win at the Canadian Open. The four-time major winner will likely be in contention come the weekend again here at St. Andrews.

Jon Rahm (+1000 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Originally the favorite at +900 before McIlroy’s recent run, John Rahm has become a mainstay atop odds boards when the majors roll around. With a T3 finish in last year’s edition, look for Rham to be back in the thick of it in the 2022 Open Championship.

Scottie Scheffler (+1200 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Since a strong showing last year at the Open Champion (T8) in his debut, Scottie Scheffler has taken over golf, ascending to No. 1 in the world. Coming off a top-three finish at the US Open, Scheffler will look to pick up his fifth PGA Tour win and second major of the season.

Justin Thomas (+1400 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Justin Thomas’s game has been at all-time highs this season, as he’s competed in all three majors thus far, including winning the PGA Championship. With two top-fives in his past four events, JT can absolutely take this one home as well.

Collin Morikawa (+1600 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

The champion returns as Collin Morikawa won the 2021 Open in dramatic fashion and comes into this year’s edition playing great golf. In contention going into Sunday at the U.S. Open, look for the same here.

Jordan Spieth (+1800 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Finishing second to Morikawa last season, Jordan Spieth has the tools to do the same this year and get the job done. However, composure after bad shots will be critical for the Texan.

Cameron Smith (+1800 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

I was high on the Aussie heading into Brookline last week, as he faltered early, missing just his third cut of the entire season. I expect a bounce-back here, as Cameron Smith already has nine top 25s in 14 events played this season.

Matthew Fitzpatrick (+2000 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

The 2022 U.S. Open Champion will head home to the U.K. with a newly formed target on his back after winning his first Major. The only question that remains is, “how will he live up to the pressure?”
