2022 Wimbledon Men’s Sports Betting: Best Prop Bet Odds & Picks (2022)
On the Men’s side, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Andy Murray have combined to win the previous ten Wimbledon titles. On the Women’s side, there has been much more parity, as Wimbledon has crowned a different champion each of the last five years. The closest thing to dominance in that span has been Serena Williams, who has won three titles and finished runner-up on two other occasions. However, there has been an overall dominant force on the WTA for the last several months, as Iga Swiatek has won 35 consecutive matches, tying Venus Williams’ mark for the longest consecutive match winning streak by a woman in this century.
The Women’s Draw received a big jolt with the inclusion of Serena Williams, who will play her first tournament in 12 months. However, there are also notable absences, such as Aryna Sabalenka, Daria Kasatkina, Victoria Azarenka, and Ekaterina Alexandrova, as Wimbledon has banned all players from Russia and Belarus due to the ongoing war in the Ukraine. And most-recently, Naomi Osaka announced she would miss Wimbledon because of an Achilles injury. However, she was also critical of Wimbledon feeling like an exhibition this year as the tournament temporarily did away with ranking points.

The Pick: Auger-Aliassime to Win The Quarter (+350 on DraftKings)
Auger-Aliassime is our biggest underdog play to win his quarter at Wimbledon. The Canadian is poised to go one round further than his quarterfinal appearance last year. If he were to face Nadal in the quarterfinals, he would likely be confident given how well he battled him on the Spaniard’s best surface. This time around, Nadal may be much more limited by an injury than he was at Roland Garros, and Nadal is open about admitting grass is not his preferred surface.
Auger-Aliassime’s other stiff competition could come from Taylor Fritz, and the American won their only head-to-head matchup on hard court at the ATP Cup. However, Fritz has not made it past the third round at Wimbledon nor appeared in a quarterfinal at any other Grand Slam event.
Auger-Alissame is part of an interesting prop wager at DraftKings, where he, Carlos Alcaraz, and Stefanos Tsitsipas have +600 odds as the “Next Gen†versus the field to win the title. While tempting, FAA would still have to win two more top-flight matches after the quarterfinals, so we are more than happy to back his +350 odds to win the quarter.
The Pick: Alcaraz to Win His First Three Matches, Lose to Djokovic in the Quarterfinals
It isn’t easy to gauge Alcaraz’s chances at Wimbledon, considering it is still the only grass tournament he has played to this point in his young career. In addition, Alcaraz was not done any favors with last year’s draw, as there is no telling how many matches he could have won if not running into Medvedev in the second round.
Though Alcaraz has proven he can beat the best in the world with wins over Nadal and Djokovic in consecutive matches in Madrid earlier this year, he was ultimately assigned another tough draw this year with Djokovic as a potential quarterfinal opponent. While we do not expect Alcaraz to beat Djokovic on grass, we would likely back his set spread or game spread in that match, as we would not be confident in Djokovic walking all over him in straight sets.
The Pick: Nadal/Djokovic to Win vs. the Field (-180 on FanDuel), Pass on +120 To Win the Quarter
We are backing FanDuel’s prop bet for either Nadal or Djokovic to win Wimbledon over the field, not because we believe in Nadal’s chances, but as a hedge as we think Djokovic is destined for his seventh title.
Nadal overcame injury concerns heading into the French Open, but those concerns appear more worrisome entering Wimbledon, and grass is not even his best surface. In addition, the Spaniard has some tricky opponents in his quarter, starting with a potential second-round match against Sam Querrey, who has used his massive serve to pull upsets over Djokovic and Murray in back-to-back years in 2016 and 2017 at Wimbledon.
Nadal also could face Marin Cilic in the fourth round, and Cilic is coming off the momentum of a semifinal appearance at Roland Garros. And should Nadal get past that round, Felix Auger-Aliassime could await in the quarterfinals, and Aliassime was one set away from handing Nadal just his fourth-ever loss on clay at the French Open. That is too tricky of a path to warrant a play on Nadal’s +120 odds to win the quarter. However, to have something invested in him, we will pair his odds to win with Djokovic’s to be safe.
The Pick: Berrettini to Win His Quarter (+110 on DraftKings)
Berrettini has made ten ATP finals, five of which have come on grass. In addition, four of his seven titles have now come on grass courts, as his big serve and smashing forehand are massive weapons on the surface. Berrettini is clearly confident heading into Wimbledon, saying that he is “going to be more ready†if he meets Djokovic again this year. Given his big serve and strong baseline game, we like for the Italian to win his quarter and get back to the finals once again, where he would be favored over any player not named Djokovic.
The Pick: Djokovic to Win (-120 on DraftKings)
We are generally not in the business of laying such hefty pre-tournament odds on any player, but we cannot find a Men’s player in a weakened field that can beat Djokovic three out of five sets on grass. Djokovic has a straightforward path to the quarterfinals, where he could meet Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz defeated Djokovic earlier this year on clay in Madrid, but the young Spaniard is not a proven grass-court player. From there, Djokovic could meet Casper Ruud (who has not won a match at Wimbledon) in the semifinals or Hubert Hurkacz, and the young Pole has made just one semifinal appearance in a Grand Slam (albeit at Wimbledon) in his young career.
Djokovic’s most likely test will be either against Nadal or Berrettini in the finals. However, since Djokovic is 3-1 on grass against Nadal and 3-0 head-to-head overall against Berrettini, we would not expect him to be upset in the final.
