2022 World Cup Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (11/25)

It’s been a wild few days in the 2022 World Cup as we’ve seen massive upsets, with Saudi Arabia taking down Argentina and Japan beating Germany. It just goes to show that any team can contend in any match and, with a little luck, maybe even shock the world.

We’re back for another four matches on Friday. Let’s get into each game and lock in a few bets for today’s action.

Wales (0-0-1) v. Iran (0-1-0) [5 a.m. EST]

Wales looked to be focused and poised in the second half of their bout with the United States, being able to net the equalizer and secure a point in an eventual 1-1 draw. They should be able to take advantage of an Iranian team that the Brits just picked apart, even without their attacking class. Their discipline should keep the Iranians off of the board, and they have a clear talent advantage, so I will be playing Wales +110 as a value play. The fact that there is + money value against Iran is wild to me, but with the fact that the style Wales plays doesn’t inspire much action, give me No on Both Teams to Score at -138. It was a good idea to put Wales at 5 am because it is the game that I am the least mad about missing.

Bet: Both Teams to Score NO (-130)

Qatar (0-1-0) v. Senegal (0-1-0) [8 a.m. EST]

The host country didn’t do anything that would make me think they could hang with anyone in this field. Simply put, the Senegalese are more skilled in every facet of the game, and now they are playing with desperation. They played a good game with the Netherlands, got worn down by a superior opponent, and got outclassed. That will not happen this time around. Senegal is very strong defensively, and Qatar is putrid on the attack, so I expect Senegal to be in complete control and win this one. To get this to a reasonable price, I would use the FanDuel Same Game Parlay feature and play Senegal ML/UNDER 3.5 -104.

Bet: Senegal ML (-155) and UNDER 3.5

Netherlands (1-0-0) v. Ecuador (1-0-0) [11 a.m. EST]

The Netherlands got two late goals to get a clutch victory from a respectable opponent, while Ecuador showed that they are really good when taking control of a game. This has all of the feels like it will be a repeat of the last game that the Dutch played, with them needing a big goal to get all three points out of this one. The first half should be extremely tactical for both sides, and while I do think the Netherlands will likely win, their performance last time out was far from inspiring enough to play this matchup at – money. The best bet for me here is for a 1H Draw +105. I wouldn’t be opposed to a sprinkle on the 0-0 first-half exact score, but I like the value of this play.

Bet: 1H Draw (+105)

England (1-0-0) v. USA (0-0-1) [2 p.m. EST]

The moment that this group was drawn, it was known that the battle between the US and Wales to be the group’s second fiddle would be a strong one, and that was showcased in their matchup last time out, which ended in a 1-1 draw. I think that the Americans know that they need to stay strong in the back and hope they get a chance on the counter, as if they overplay, they may risk a hard goal differential to overcome. Look for a slow first half and for England to crack through, and I just think the Brits are in too good of form to consider any other line than their money line -180. The US should be able to keep it close and have a fighting shot to advance at the end, but I have a hard time thinking anyone can stop England when they play like this.

Bet: England ML (-180)
