2022 World Cup Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Japan vs. Costa Rica

Group E: Japan vs. Costa Rica (Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, Al Rayyan; 1 p.m.)

Costa Rica was picked as one of the worst teams in this tournament, and they looked the part in their first game. They lost 7-0 to Spain and they did not take a single shot. Meanwhile, Japan could wrap up a birth in the Knockout Stage with a win and a Spain win or tie against Germany.

Japan’s offense is not as good as Spain’s, and it is unlikely that Costa Rica does not attempt a shot again, especially after Japan gave up nine on target in game one. Costa Rica may even find the back of the net once. Yet, even if they do, Japan should be able to take advantage of a really bad defense and win this one by multiple goals.

Pick: Japan to Win by 2+ Goals (+125 DraftKings Sportsbook)
