2022 World Cup Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (12/9)
And just like that, we are down to eight teams. Now more than two weeks old, the 2022 FIFA World Cup is approaching its final stages, as the quarterfinals are upon us beginning Friday in Qatar. While upsets have seemingly dominated the tournament, the eight teams remaining (outside of Morocco), are largely who we thought they would be.
With plenty of star power to go around on Friday, the day starts with Croatia vs. Brazil and rounds out with Netherlands vs. Argentina in what should be two terrific matches. Let’s look at how things might shake out on day one of the quarterfinals.

Croatia vs. Brazil (Education City Stadium, Al Rayyan; 10 a.m.)
- Leg 1: Brazil (-290)
- Leg 2: Anytime Goalscorer - Richarlison (+155)
- Leg 3: Over 3.5 Goals (+195)
Destroying South Korea 4-1 earlier in the week, Brazil once again put the world on notice of why they are the favorites in this World Cup. Paqueta, Neymar, Junior, and Richarlison all scored goals for Selecao, as they ran away with this match in the first half and never looked back. With 32 shots on goal to lead all teams in Qatar, Brazil will no doubt have plenty of chances to score in this one, and I think Croatia will too.
Coming into this match, Croatia already has a four-goal performance under their belt (4-1 vs. Canada) and will be by far the toughest test to date for Brazil’s backline. In what I expect to be a high-scoring match, I like for Brazil to edge out Croatia and for Richarlison to tally his fourth tournament goal in the process.

Netherlands vs. Argentina (Lusail Stadium, Lusail; 2 p.m.)
- Leg 1: Argentina (+120)
- Leg 2: Anytime Goalscorer - Memphis Depay (+230)
- Leg 3: Over 3.5 Goals (+110)
Second only to Brazil, Argentina has remained the favorite to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup, led by the biggest legend in these games, Lionel Messi. However, the Dutch come into this match with other plans, as the #8 team in the FIFA rankings is fresh off beating the USA 3-1. With plenty of missed chances for the Americans, however, the Netherlands was sloppy in the back, and I don’t see Argentina missing those same opportunities.
While we already know the Argentines can score at volume, the Dutch also have a top goal scorer in Cody Gakpo, who leads the side with three goals in this World Cup. With him getting the bulk of the attention, look for Depay to sneak one past the goalkeeper before all is said and done.
