2023 Fortinet Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions: Longshot Bets
With the best offseason in sports in the rear-view mirror, we now look forward to this week’s Fortinet Championship in Napa, Calif. The North Course at Silverado Resort and Spa will host this event once again, which it has done annually since 2014.
Silverado Resort and Spa is a par-72, 7,123-yard track designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and redesigned by Johnny Miller that features Poa Annua greens. Looking at the top of previous leaderboards, the best scramblers often have better success at this venue.
Below, I give my two best longshot bets to win the 2023 Fortinet Championship.

2023 Fortinet Championship: Best Longshot Bets
These plays are 0.5 and 0.25 units, or 0.5% and 0.25% of your betting bankroll.
Sam Ryder (+7000 via bet365): 0.5 units
The first golfer to target this week is Sam Ryder, who currently sits at 70/1 via bet365. Finishing last season in good form, Ryder narrowly missed the TOUR Championship with his T31 finish at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
That performance marked his third-straight made cut to end the year, a stretch that began with his T7 finish at the 3M Open. With an incredibly short offseason, it would not be shocking if he can keep things rolling at Silverado Resort and Spa, a venue at which he boasts a previous T4 finish.
Ryder ranked 67th on TOUR last season in scrambling, which will benefit him this week. The Poa Annua greens should also not be an issue, considering that Ryder gained strokes putting at all four tournaments last year that were contested on this type of surface.
Chesson Hadley (+9000 via Circa): 0.25u
Another golfer to take a flyer on this week is Chesson Hadley, who currently sits at 90/1 via Circa. Like Ryder, Hadley ended the 2022-23 season in good form, making six of his final seven cuts, including his T6 finish at the Barracuda Championship against a watered-down field.
He will be teeing up against another relatively weak field this week, and 90/1 is too long to pass up on a golfer who finished 82nd on TOUR last season in scrambling. A strong scrambler, you will not be surprised to learn that he has finished inside the top 25 here three times since 2018, including his T3 finish that year.
Also, like Ryder, Hadley is strong on Poa Annua greens, as he gained strokes putting at last year’s Fortinet Championship, The Genesis Invitational and Rocket Mortgage Classic.
