The former Champion Golfer of the Year from Sweden will be playing on the field here once again, so he will be going back to a place he is familiar with. Last month at Mayakoba, Charles Howell III won the solo title. Peter Uihlein and Branden Grace came in second and third, respectively, giving them (and their teams) a solid foundation to build on going forward.

Naturally, as the Masters draws near, attention will be focused on the current Open champion Cameron Smith to see if he can regain some of the incredible forms that made him a dominant force in 2022. Additionally, Dustin Johnson, a previous winner at Augusta National, will be regarded as one of the favorites at the year’s first major, despite not playing a single PGA Tour event in well over a year.
Both had a subdued start to the season in Mexico. However, once the game momentarily converges down Magnolia Lane in April, they will undoubtedly be able to contend with players like Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm. Back to the present, Four Aces GC, an all-American squad, is trailing Crushers GC on the team standings, which was led by Howell III’s outstanding triumph.
The season’s massive prize pool, which totals $405 million, is being contested by the 12 teams and 48 individuals, all of which will be teeing it up this week in Arizona.
Course Preview: The Gallery Golf Club
The South course, which hosted the WGC Match Play championship won by Stenson and Tiger Woods more than 15 years ago, is home to a pair of highly acclaimed modern courses that are part of this perfectly maintained complex. The South Course at The Gallery Golf Club spans 7,469 yards on the card, offering players a significant challenge, as the John Fought-designed course will challenge even the world’s best.
The course’s layout is somewhat one-dimensional because the first seven holes practically run in a straight line, providing a consistent wind direction. The following three holes then follow the same path as one another before the back nine rotates slightly before the 18th hole marks the course’s finish.
