2023 Masters: Justin Thomas vs. Collin Morikawa Head-to-Head Picks

Many people believe that April is the best sports month of the year. The stretch run of the NBA’s regular season, the commencement of baseball season and the relics of NCAA March Madness are all featured in April. The Masters at Augusta National Golf Club, one of the year’s premier tournaments, is sandwiched amid all of that glory.

The Masters, the first Major of the year in golf, has consistently given rise to some of the most memorable moments in the game. Powerhouse Scottie Scheffler won the championship last year after separating himself from the pack and finishing with a score of 10-under. Of course, Tiger Woods, who is essentially the king of Augusta and an icon, will be fit enough to play this year, adding to the litany of storylines.

Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are the odds-on favorites to win The Masters in 2023 at DraftKings Sportsbook, with odds of +700. Elsewhere, in the matchup markets, plenty of bets have caught my eye. Let’s take a closer look at a couple of my favorites.

Justin Thomas (-130) vs. Collin Morikawa (+105)

Fading Justin Thomas is one of those difficult choices, but his current game appears a little sloppy, with the putter being a particular worry. In 11 of his last 14 starts, he has conceded strokes to the opposition, frequently by a significant margin. You almost get the impression that Thomas’s frustrations on the green affect the rest of his game and make the road to the top more difficult for him.

On the other side, Collin Morikawa is dialed in, with a second-place finish and five other top 25s in his last 10 starts.

Pick: Collin Morikawa (+105)
