2023 MLB All-Star Game Player Prop Bet Odds, Picks, & Predictions (7/11)

The Home Run Derby was electric last night, and it was also historic. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (+370) secured the victory and joined his father, Vladimir Guerrero (2007), as a winner of the event. They became the first father-son duo to each win the Home Run Derby.

We're onto the All-Star Game, and it should be another thrilling night at T-Mobile Park. First pitch is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET, and we have a starting pitching matchup between Zac Gallen (N.L.) and Gerrit Cole (A.L.). From a betting perspective, I'm taking it to the prop sheet, where I narrowed in on these three-player prop bets.

Mookie Betts To Record a Hit (-165)

Considering the roster turnover throughout the game, it's always tough to handicap the All-Star Game when it comes to player props. With that being said, I don't feel too bad laying the juice with these first two plays.

Mookie Betts will bat third for the National League tonight, and he comes in batting .250 (2-8) over five career All-Star Games. That includes a 1-1 (1.000) day at the plate last year, where he also added an RBI.

Betts is a big-time player, and he lives for the spotlight. He should get at least two if not three, at-bats in tonight's game. There isn't much we know about how the pitching will be handled, but one thing that's written in stone is Betts will face Gerrit Cole in the 1st inning. He's 7-17 (.412) against the right-hander with a double.

Luis Arraez To Record a Hit (-180)

Luis Arraez leads the league in both batting average (.383) and OBP (.434) this season. The util-man is slated sixth in the National League's lineup tonight in Seattle.

How can we not take him to get a hit? He's a hit machine. At the very least, we know we'll get our money's worth considering this guy is the hardest out in baseball. Arraez is the best player in the league at working counts, which is exemplified by the fact that he leads the league in K% at just 5.2%.

Arraez is 1-2 (.500) in his All-Star Game career, which dates back to last season. Let's lay the juice with him to record a knock.

Shohei Ohtani 1st Plate Appearance Result: Strikeout (+280)

The two-way sensation Shohei Ohtani hits second tonight for the American League. This will be his third consecutive All-Star appearance, and he's 1-3 (.333) with a single.

While he's well on his way to recording his second MVP Award (-750) in MLB, I'm going to play contrarian tonight and take him to strikeout in his first plate appearance. He'll face Zac Gallen in the bottom of the 1st, and the superstar hasn't fared well against the right-hander. Ohtani's 0-3 (.000) with a pair of strikeouts.

We may end up looking foolish fading the game's biggest superstar, but I think it's worth a shot with the near-3-to-1 payout.
