The 2023 NBA Summer League just wrapped up, but there is plenty of summer basketball yet to be played. The Big3 rolls on, and now fans get to enjoy TBT, The Basketball Tournament. Games will be featured on ESPN throughout the tournament, and we’ll have you covered with picks and predictions for each matchup. TBT believes “high stakes competition is the most powerful force in sports.” They’ll offer an open tournament and games of consequence daily which should result in some electrifying competition. Let’s take a look at our top picks for today’s TBT action.

Today’s 2023 The Basketball Tournament (TBT) Bets

Here are our top picks for today’s 2023 TBT action.

Friday Beers vs. Athletics Miami

Friday Beers has gone 15-8 all-time in The Basketball Tournament. The roster will feature players like Gabe York, Mitch Creek, and Dee Best. They'll take on Athletics Miami. Athletics Miami only has ten players on the roster and has gone 0-1 in The Basketball Tournament. The experience and talent that Friday Beers has will be unmatched against Athletics Miami. Let's take Friday Beers to finish the job in the Round of 64.

Pick: Friday Beers -9 (-115)

Team Colorado vs. Men of Mackey

The Colorado alumni have won eight games in TBT. They'll be led by Evan Battey and many other Colorado players that should compete at a high level in this year's Tournament. But I'm not sure it'll be enough against Purdue's alumni team, Men of Mackey. This team has only gone 3-3 in six games in The Basketball Tournament. I notable name playing in this game would be Robbie Hummel. I like Men of Mackey a bit more in this matchup.

Pick: Men of Mackey +2.5 (-115)

Blue Collar U vs. Virginia Dream

Blue Collar U had a difficult matchup in Round 1. They're one of the favorites in The Basketball Tournament but only defeated Big 5 by one point in the first round. Buffalo has a lot of players on the roster, but the depth might not be as talented. C.J. Massinburg and Wes Clark added 50 points combined. Nick Perkins also had 13 points. But the rest of the team wasn't very good. They'll take on Virginia Dream after its 79-73 victory over The Commonwealth. In that game, Robert Colon took over and added 15 points. Devin Cooper scored 15 points. But other than that, like Blue Collar U, nobody contributed at a high level offensively. Blue Collar U is more top-heavy with talent, so give me them.

Pick: Blue Collar U -9 (-115)

Carmen’s Crew vs. Team Overtime

Carmen's Crew is back for more in The Basketball Tournament. They didn't play last year, but the Carmen's Crew have a TBT Championship on their resume. This is the Ohio State alumni team that is loaded with notable talent. They'll face Team Overtime, which has previously gone 0-1 in the tournament. Team Overtime will feature many younger players that will play at a high level. But Ohio State's alumni team has way more experience. Give me Carmen's Crew in Round 1.

Pick: Carmen’s Crew -6.5 (-115)

Red Scare vs. India Rising

Dayton's alumni team, Red Scare, is back for another year in the TBT. Red Scare has gone 9-4 in The Basketball Tournament and went to the semifinals last season. The team is stacked with talent from last year's team, including Darrell Davis, Ryan Mikesell, and Scoochie Smith. They'll take on India Rising. India Rising lost in the first round last season. They're featuring India's best Indian-origin players. It's unlikely they'll be able to compete with an experienced team like Red Scare in Round 1.

Pick: Red Scare -14.5 (-115)

The Nerd Team vs. Boeheim’s Army

The Nerd Team held Happy Valley Hoopers to 49 points in their first-round matchup. The defense was tremendous, but the offense only added 54 points in the win. On the other hand, Boeheim's Army added 99 points against Team Gibson. Andrew White III, Grant Riller, and Dwight Buycks Jr. each added at least 15 points and will more than likely out-score The Nerd Team by a considerable margin.

Pick: Boeheim’s Army -7.5 (-115)
