2023 US Open Odds, Picks & Predictions: Madison Keys
The Women's Draw at the US Open last year had plenty of upsets and surprises, but at the end the top two women in the Race to the WTA Finals at the time, No. 1 Iga Swiatek and No. 2 Ons Jabeur, competed for the final.
Since Serena Williams three-peated at the US Open from 2012-14, there have been seven different winners among the eight tournaments, with the only repeat winner in that span being Naomi Osaka (won in 2018 and 2020). The US Open has also crowned four first-time Grand Slam winners in that stretch (Flavia Pennetta- 2015, Sloane Stephens- 2017, Bianca Andreescu- 2019, Emma Raducanu- 2021). Last year's winner, Iga Swiatek, was perceived as more of a "veteran" Grand Slam Champion, with the title being her third at the time. Since then, Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka won the first two majors of the year, representing what some have called "The Big Three" in women's tennis (with Elena Rybakina included), while unseeded Marketa Vondrousova shocked the tennis world by capturing the French Open crown.
Are we in for more surprises with another first-time major winner, or will this be a year where one of the heavy favorites wins the US Open?

2023 US Open Best Bets & Picks: Madison Keys
Here is our betting outlook for 2023 US Open.
2023 US Open Betting Predictions
With two wins at this year’s US Open, she would have the most wins there of any Grand Slam. Much of her career success at Flushing Meadows comes from a tremendous three-year run where she finished runner-up, made the semifinals, and lost in the fourth round from 2017-19. Since then, Keys has not advanced past the third round in any of her last three appearances. Keys enters this tournament off a disappointing Round of 64 exit at Cincinnati, losing in three sets to Elise Mertens, which dropped Keys to 9-8 on hard courts this year. However, any player with seven career singles titles and semifinal appearances on three other occasions at majors has to be taken seriously, even if she is one of the older women’s tennis players on tour. Oddsmakers at DraftKings clearly feel she has a good chance to make a deep run, as the possible finals matchup of Keys vs. Iga Swiatek is tied for the eighth-shortest odds.
2023 US Open Betting Advice & Picks
DraftKings has the odds at +330 for any American woman to win the US Open, and while Cori Gauff and Jessica Pegula are the most likely to cash that bet, getting Keys involved in that wager is a great consolation. Given Pegula’s 0-6 record in Grand Slam quarterfinal matches, Keys is one of the most intriguing value plays to win her quarter at +700 (the fourth-best odds in her quarter).
