2023 ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP Odds, Picks & Predictions: Longshot Bets
With the Shriners Children’s Open in the rear-view mirror, we now look forward to this week’s ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP in Japan. Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club will host this event once again, which it has done annually since the tournament’s inception in 2019 (with the exception of the COVID-19 year).
Accordia is a par-70, 7,079-yard track designed by Shinya Fujita. This tournament is slightly different from other PGA events as there is a smaller field and no cut.
Below, I give out my two best longshot bets to win the 2023 ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP.

Adam Schenk (+4000): 0.5 units
The first golfer to target this week is Adam Schenk. Simply put, Schenk is one of the best golfers in this field, and this price is too long just because of a missed cut at last week’s Shriners Children’s Open.
He finished in the top 10 of the FedEx Cup rankings last season and ended the season in brilliant form. After missing the cut at the PGA Championship, Schenk went on to make eight of his final 11 cuts with six top-10 finishes.
Schenk flirted with a win time and again last season, and his previous success at Accordia makes him a good candidate to back this week. He’s played here three times, finishing inside the top 30 all three years, and is coming off a T16 performance last season.
With a parkland-style layout, Accordia rewards accurate ball strikers who can avoid trouble and hit greens in regulation. Given Schenk’s nearly 68 GIR%, it is not shocking he typically plays well here.
Adam Svensson (+5000): 0.25 units
It was a banner year for Canadians on TOUR last season, and Adam Svensson played his part as he won The RSM Classic. It was a tremendous season in general for Svensson, and that good form has carried into the FedExCup Fall.
Dating back to last season, Svensson has made eight straight cuts with four finishes inside the top 20. He’s not doing anything particularly well; he is just a tremendously well-rounded golfer with few flaws in his game.
This gives him a high floor for this tournament, which makes 50/1 a great number to take a flyer on. The only reason this number is even so long is that he finished T59 in his lone appearance at Accordia last year.
However, that was before he found his form. With that course experience/knowledge now in his toolbox, I expect a strong week from Svensson, given how well he has been playing.
