2024 Canadian Grand Prix Odds, Picks & Predictions (Formula 1)
It’s the best time of the Formula 1 season. We had the Monaco Grand Prix last, and while it was a little boring, Charles Leclerc did finally strike gold at his home race. Now this week, we get the iconic Canadian Grand Prix, which should be just as action-packed as it always is, with the added addition of some weather to spice the race up. Then, in a few weeks, we get the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, which is one of the best events of the calendar.
It’s an exciting time to be an F1 fan, but even more exciting is wondering how the reigning World Champions, Red Bull, are feeling about losing two of the previous three races after only losing one in all of 2023. Will Max Verstappen triumph in Canada, as he has done the past two years?

2024 Canadian Grand Prix Predictions
Max Verstappen: -250 To Win
I can’t shake that when weather rears its ugly head, Verstappen tends to show why he is the best driver in the world and the three-time defending world champion driver. Despite him saying that the Red Bull car could struggle here, I think that he has to feel determined to push the car to its limits to open back up a solid points lead in the World Championship standings.
One of Circuit Gilles Villeneuve’s standout features is the kerbs that drivers must navigate, and despite Verstappen opining that issues with them in Monaco played a large role in Red Bull not performing well, I think weather is a greater equalizer here. Verstappen should have a nice comeback performance.

Carlos Sainz: +165 Podium Finish
Obviously, Norris and Leclerc are at the forefront of everyone’s minds lately with recent wins, but what about Sainz, who sits fourth after a few lackluster races but still has four total podiums this season? In 2022, Sainz nearly won this race, pushing Verstappen to the absolute brink before Max turned on the jets at the end of the race.
The Ferrari car has been at absolute peak movement lately, finishing on the podium in each of the last three races. Sainz is due for a solid race and with him being at the forefront of rumors this week, a great performance would put him right back in the conversation for World Champion in 2024.
Sainz is much better than the +165 books are currently giving him, so bet on some nice value here.

Winning Margin: Under Six Seconds +100, Over 12 Seconds +175, Between 6 & 12 Seconds +330
In the last three Canadian Grand Prix, the winning margin has twice been under six seconds. Last year, Verstappen beat out Fernando Alonso by nearly ten seconds, but I expect things to be much closer this season.
First of all, Verstappen has admitted that this year’s Red Bull car is not as solid as previous years, and competitors could expect that Red Bull will not push the car as much as previously. Also, we have to take into account the weather, which is possibly the most significant factor in this race.
There is expected to be rain in nearly every session this weekend, which could not only cause some accidents and bunch the cars up behind a safety car but it could cause cars not to be as aggressive on a track that does test how well a car can move around tight kerbs.
