2024 Masters Odds & Picks: Best Round 3 Futures Bets

Severe winds wreaked havoc on golfers at Augusta National Golf Club during Round 2. Only 10 players ended up with a red scorecard, while the cut line moved down to +5. Scottie Scheffler, Max Homa, and Bryson DeChambeau sit atop the leaderboard in a three-way tie at 6-under-par.

Here, we’ll look at the best bets to place in the Futures market during Round 3. Currently, Scottie Scheffler is the odds-on betting favorite at +130 odds, followed by Bryson DeChambeau at +450 and Max Homa at +500. With the worst weather out of the way, the ball-striking and putting should look much better during the weekend for those who managed to make the cut in blustery conditions.

Scottie Scheffler (+125)

Not much analysis is needed to justify placing a ticket on World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in the outright winner futures market. Scheffler ranks first strokes gained on approach, as well as top-five off-the-tee and around the green. The putting has been inconsistent, which is the only aspect of his game to show any sign of weakness. After grinding out Friday’s windy conditions, finishing even par is a huge win. Especially considering Scheffler’s history at Augusta National, managing top-20 finishes in all four previous appearances, including winning the green jacket in 2022.

Pick: Scottie Scheffler Outright Winner (+125) – 2 units

Collin Morikawa (+1400)

Collin Morikawa has six career wins on the PGA Tour, including a major victory at the 2020 PGA Championship. The 27-year-old Californian has been volatile in 2024 though, bouncing between missed cuts, T45, and T75 finishes since March started. This week he’s looked like the clock has turned back a bit.

Morikawa is one of only a handful of golfers who have gone under par in both rounds to start at Augusta National. After finishing 44th and 18th in 2020 and 2021, Morikawa’s been solid during his recent two trips to the Masters, logging a 10th-place and fifth-place finish. When his driver, irons, and putter all cooperate, which we’ve seen thus far, few in the field can match his tenacity.

Let’s stake half a unit on Morikawa to win his first green jacket outright at +1400 odds while he’s sitting at -3-under-par in a two-way tie for fifth-place with Cam Davis entering the third round on Saturday.

Pick: Collin Morikawa Outright Winner (+1400) – 0.50 unit

Nicolai Højgaard (+2800)

We’re taking a shot on Nicolai Højgaard to deliver his first win on the PGA Tour in epic fashion by seizing a green jacket on Sunday afternoon at Augusta National.

The Denmark native doesn’t have eye-popping stats but he does play strong off-the-tee, ranked 21st strokes gained off-the-tee in 2024. Højgaard has also won four events in the international circuit, including the 2023 DP World Tour Championship in Europe. He’s clearly not afraid of big moments and finished runner-up at the Farmers Insurance Open back in January, showcasing his ball-striking abilities that we’ve seen on display this week.

One more half unit wager on Højgaard at +2800 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook is recommended as he prepares to contend for the outright win in solo fourth-place at -4-under-par entering Round 3.

Pick: Nicolai Højgaard Outright Winner (+2800) – 0.50 unit
