How to Watch

The Home Run Derby will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 8:00 pm ET. You can watch the event on ESPN.

Rules

In the 2024 Home Run Derby:

First Round

• All eight hitters compete without predetermined seeds.
• Top four performers advance to the semifinals.

Semifinals

• Matchups are No. 1 vs. No. 4 and No. 2 vs. No. 3, based on first-round home run totals.

Tiebreaker

• If there’s a tie in the first round, the player with the longest home run advances.

Each round will have a limit of either duration or number of pitches as follows:

Pitch Limit

• First two rounds: 3 minutes or 40 pitches, whichever comes first.
• Final round: 2 minutes or 27 pitches, whichever comes first.

Bonus Pitches

• Bonus period now based on outs, not time.
• Initial bonus period lasts until 3 outs.
• Hitting a home run of 425+ feet extends bonus period to 4 outs.
• No automatic bonus time for long home runs in the regulation period.

How to Bet
