2024 Paris Olympics Golf: Odds, Picks & Predictions
Between the last two events on the PGA Tour’s regular season calendar sit the Olympic Games in Paris. Some of the brightest stars will step up in the home colors to try and achieve medal-winning glory. Down the board are some sneaky talented golfers whose names might not be familiar. The 2021 Olympics in Tokyo saw a favored player win gold in Xander Schauffele, but Rory Sabbatini and CT Pan were podium surprises.
The gameplay will remind many of the signature events on Tour this season, with a limited field and 72 holes of stroke play with no cut. A limit of four golfers from any one country was imposed to showcase a greater variety of golfing nations. The big names at the top of the board are offering especially short odds, but their probability of winning in this field is even higher in some cases. I want to bet the United States to sweep the podium, but I’ve yet to see a line to get action on it. Another fun bet is on the top performers for certain countries. All of my bets in this column are to win outright.

Best 2024 Paris Olympic Golf Picks
(Odds Courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Le Golf National is a shorter positional course on the Parisian outskirts. The par-71 track is a cozy 7,100 yards and change, with bottlenecking fairways and tight approach shot windows. The ideal golfer at Le Golf National can push the ball down the fairway off the tee, but more importantly, has the iron play to attack pins with precision. The rough is reportedly shorter than it was for the 2018 Ryder Cup. This could put more emphasis on gaining opportunities and converting birdies, rather than scrambling and bogey avoidance. Avec un jambon beurre et un peu de vin, let’s tee off.
Scottie Scheffler
The best player in the world should be able to add a gold medal to his assortment of wearable trophies this season. Scottie Scheffler is an assassin on approach, easily clearing this field in proximity and opportunities gained. His putting has been okay most of the time, but that would be the concern with his chances to pay of at +350.
Pick: Outright +350 [2u]
Collin Morikawa
This golf course just absolutely screams Collin Morikawa. The good mojo is back with Collin’s world-class iron play and his short game has been much improved of late. Always one of the most accurate golfers in the world, and to get 10-1 odds on him in a 60-man field is a blessing at the Paris Olympics.
Pick: Outright +1000 [1u]
Corey Conners
If I was to guess which international golfer would prevent Team USA from sweeping the podium, I would guess it would be a ball striker like Canadian marksman Corey Conners. His short game has held up really well for the back half of 2024, while his prowess from tee to green gives him dangerous birdie-making ability. After this tier, the talent pool really thins out.
Pick: Outright +3000
Deep Shots: Victor Perez and David Puig
A lot of people are betting on Mattieu Pavon to best represent the hosting nation, but I believe that will be Victor Perez. Perez is sitting at 90-1 odds and 22-1 for the top European golfer. He is an outstanding putter and is in the top half of this field on approach. David Puig is on Team Spain with red-hot Jon Rahm, but whose game looks to fit with Le Golf National just as well. Puig is another strong putter, who is specifically sharper on approach in the common short iron distances featured here. He is currently 150-1 to win gold and 35-1 to be best European.
