2024 PGA Championship Best Prop Bets: Odds & Picks

As we progress to the 2024 PGA Championship, bettors will want to consider the massive number of PGA championship props that they can take on in addition to all of the outright plays that they want to make for the second major of the season.

As always, there are terrific prop bets like matchups, finishing positions, top nationalities, and more that you should be paying attention to. Outright betting is flashy, but prop betting in golf is what pays the bills, so to speak.

We’re going to look at a few of the markets that I like and see if we can nail down a solid week of prop betting.

Collin Morikawa

If you check out our PGA Championship Predictions piece, you’ll see that Morikawa ended up making it onto my outright card for this week’s Valhalla event. However, my favorite bet for this weekend may actually be for Morikawa to place in the top 20 of this event, which you can snag on DraftKings Sportsbook at +120 odds.

Morikawa has been playing some inspired golf over the past month since splitting with new coach Mark Blackburn and returning to his old coach Rick Sessinghaus. We’ve seen the old confidence return for Collin, and Valhalla is a solid course setup for him to have a good week.

Cameron Young

Young has started each of his last four tournaments with solid scores: E (72), -4 (67), -2 (70) and -2 (69). Two of those tournaments were Signature events, and one was the Masters! That’s a healthy way to start your tournaments, with a solid Thursday.

That’s what we’re hoping that Young will achieve here, as he ranks 25th this season in Round 1 Scoring Average, with a solid 69.36 average in 11 rounds. This is a fantastic course setup for the young New Yorker, as Young can stretch it with his driver and then use his very solid long iron play to get onto these Bentgrass greens.

Young always shows up for big events, so look for him to get out to a fast start once again.

2024 PGA Championship Prop Bet: Round 1 Score Under 70.5 (+120)

Scottie Scheffler

I’m sneaking in a Scheffler bet here, as is my American right as a golf bettor to do so! Fresh off of the baby being born, I’m betting that Scottie has not been getting the sleep he deserves for a few days.

However, I think that all changed when he left and arrived at his rental house in Louisville that he’ll be staying at all week, and with that newfound sleep he’s been getting, I think he’s all rested up to shift into full gear on Thursday.

Scottie hasn’t fired a First-Round Leader score yet this season, but I’ll bet he’s determined to go out there after missing the Wells Fargo and remind this field just who they have to beat. Nine of his ten opening rounds this season have been sub-69 (nice) and I’ll bet he’s able to fire off another one here.
