2024 Preakness Stakes Predictions: Tuscan Gold
- Post Position: 8
- Odds: 8-1
Tuscan Gold is a lightly raced colt with a career record of 3: 1-0-1. His only graded stakes experience is his last race, the Lousiana Derby, where he ran 3rd to fellow Preakness entrant Catching Freedom. TG has improved his speed rating with each race, finishing with a 93 rating last time out.
He will be under Tyler Gaffalione, who rode Sierra Leone to his nose-loss to Mystik Dan in the Derby and could pick up his second Preakness victory in three tries with a win this weekend. It’s hard to see him finishing before all of the others, but his name should hit the board, especially with Gaffalione as his mount.
