Today’s 2024 The Basketball Tournament (TBT) Picks
Here are our top picks for today’s 2024 TBT action.
Eberlein Drive vs. Forever Coogs
Eberlein Drive added its fourth win of the TBT with an 85-71 victory over Happy Valley Hoopers. The starting lineup came up big again, with four of the five finishing in double figures. Tyler Stone even added a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. In addition, the team shot 54.5% from the field and 43.5% from downtown, helping them recover from a 10-point deficit after the first quarter. They'll take on Forever Coogs, who ultimately took it to Team Colorado. Forever Coogs earned a 12-point lead after the first quarter. However, they held on and increased the lead after holding Team Colorado to under 30% from the field. Team Colorado shot 41.7% from downtown but struggled to score around the rim against Forever Coogs. The Forever Coogs don't have the deepest offense. But the defense should show up against Eberlein Drive. Let's grab the Under 148.5.
Pick: Under 148.5 (-115)
Carmen’s Crew vs. La Familia
La Familia has been rolling right along, not only winning all four games to date, but posting a margin of victory of 19.5 points per game. Carmen’s Crew, the Ohio State alumni team, has been tested a little more, although it topped Takeover BC by 16 points last time out. It’s closest pass was a 74-70 win over top-seeded Heartfire in Round 3. La Familia is averaging 82.0 PPG, while hitting 36.3% from behind the 3-point line and 45.9% from the field. Kerem Kanter has paced the team with 18.8 PPG, while Eric Bledsoe is averaging 15.5 PPG. Carmen’s Crew is hitting 44.8% from the floor, while cashing in at a 37.8% mark from behind the arc. Jamel Morris leads a balanced attack, averaging 11.0 PPG, while four players are averaging 10.0 PPG or better. La Familia has been stomping everybody, though, and it’s the play as the UK alum team punches its ticket to the Final.
Pick: La Familia -2.5 (-115)
