While Viktor Hovland hasn’t enjoyed much success at the U.S. Open to date, he also has not seen Pinehurst in this format. His best finish was as the low amateur in 2019, while his 19th-place finish last season kicked off his unbelievable run through the FedEx Cup playoffs.

The Norwegian is showing signs of his peak form after a tumultuous season marked by turbulence and coaching changes. He was in contention early at last week’s Memorial before a disastrous Saturday back nine. He has enough talent to play this course at an elite level, especially if he continues to trend in the right direction.
