2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship Picks & Predictions: Best PGA Bets
The 2025 FedExCup Playoffs begin this week during the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Hosted at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, golfers who finished 70th or better in the FedExCup Rankings have qualified to play in the first of three playoff events.
Scottie Scheffler is a massive betting favorite this week at +280 odds due to his No. 1 ranking in the FedExCup. No. 2, Rory McIlroy, is the only golfer who opted not to play this week, meaning 69 golfers are set to tee it up at TPC Southwind. No cut line is enforced, while golfers will have to play well enough to finish 50th or better in the FedExCup Rankings to advance to the BMW Championship.
TPC Southwind is a par 70 that features updated TifEagle Bermudagrass greens. It runs 7,288 yards and has three-inch rough with Zoysiagrass fairways. Greens are larger than in previous editions, although still compact at 4,500 square feet on average. 12.5 feet Stimpmeter speed on the greens is expected. Frequent water hazards and doglegged fairways abound.

Outright Winner
Oddsmakers have Scottie Scheffler valued as a massive +280 betting favorite to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship this week. The World No. 1 holds a significant edge over the field with his No. 1 ranking in the FedExCup, leveraging starting strokes until it gets removed for the top 30 who will compete at the TOUR Championship.
Behind Scheffler is a sizable gap in the outright winner market, with Xander Schauffele, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Thomas and Matt Fitzpatrick ranging from +1800 to +2800 odds. He’s logged T31 and solo fourth-place finishes in each of the past two appearances at TPC Southwind.
Ranks first in total strokes gained, including first SG: Off-the-Tee, SG: Approach and scoring average. Don’t overthink this play and back Scheffler as a short favorite to win his first FedEx St. Jude Championship at +280 odds.

Top 20 Finish
It’s been a career year for Harris English. He won the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines and rattled off three other top 10 finishes to surge to seventh in the FedExCup Rankings.
English has not played well in recent appearances at TPC Southwind, carding T52 and T61 finishes since 2023. However, he’s riding a ton of momentum and playing in good form entering Round 1 in Memphis this week.
Ranks 21st SG: Putting, 34th in total strokes gained and top 40 scrambling. T4-T22-T2 stretch in last three events played, including a solo runner-up finish at the Open Championship at Royal Portrush.
Posted a top 20 finish in three of his previous five events played. A Top 20 Finish prop at plus odds is warranted based on English’s production on the golf course since the beginning of June.
Pick: Harris English (+130)
Top 20 Finish
Englishman Harry Hall has been another consistent force on the PGA Tour in 2025. The 27-year-old has four top 20 finishes in his last five events played, including a T15 on Sunday at the Wyndham Championship.
Hall is 44th in the FedExCup Rankings entering Round 1 at TPC Southwind this week. It’s his tournament debut at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, where he’ll likely lean on his short game to drain birdies.
Ranked seventh in total strokes gained, Hall leads the PGA Tour in SG: Putting and putts per round. He’s also second in putting average, one-putt percentage, scoring average and par 4 scoring. Leads the PGA Tour in birdie average this season at 4.52 birdies per round.
Tee-to-Green has been the weakness for Hall. If he continues to play his brand of golf, with an elite short game, which includes ranking sixth in scrambling, Hall has a great opportunity to record his eighth top 20 finish in his past 10 events.
