2025 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Dustin Johnson

It’s Masters week, arguably the best week of the year for fans of professional golf. The Masters is a rite of spring and the unofficial start of golf season in America.

The best players in the game will take on what many regard as the best and most gorgeous golf course in the world, Augusta National. But Augusta is a treacherous beauty that challenges players with lightning-fast greens, severe elevation changes, narrow passages between trees, and scorecard-wrecking water hazards and bunkers.

Can the No. 1 player in the world, Scottie Scheffler, win his third Green Jacket in four years? Is this finally Rory McIlroy's year? Or will a young star such as Ludvig Aberg or Collin Morikawa prevail at Augusta? And let's not forget about the LIV Tour players. Jon Rahm, Patrick Reed and Sergio Garcia are among the LIV players who have won The Masters before. Maybe it's Bryson DeChambeau's turn this year.

Welcome to the fourth annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We’re going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the players contending for the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Read on for our 2025 Masters predictions for Dustin Johnson.

Course History

Dustin Johnson picked up a victory at Augusta National in the weird COVID-19 season, winning The Masters in mid-November by five strokes with a record 20 under par (268). While that’s all well and good, his 2024 showing at Augusta National was an absolute disaster. He stumbled to a 13-over 157, with just three other golfers doing worse than he did.

Recent Form

It was vintage Dustin Johnson at LIV Golf Singapore at the Sentosa Golf Club in March, as he popped with a t-5th finish, although he probably should have won after a first-round 8-under 63. He followed that up with a t-27th finish at LIV Golf Miami last week.

Johnson has been starting fast and finishing poorly in nearly all of his LIV appearances this season, outside of a rare strong finish in Hong Kong. The best days appear to be in the rear-view mirror for the 40-year-old golfer.

Betting Outlook: 2025 Masters Predictions

Johnson is a former Green Jacket winner, so you need to respect that. We’ve seen guys come out of the woodwork before, going from mediocrity to turn back the clock at Augusta National. There is just something magical about The Masters, even to the most grizzled veteran.

However, Johnson is a big-time longshot at +10000. That’s a lottery ticket. Your best bet would be playing Johnson for a top-30 finish at plus-money (+125) or a top-40 finish (-150) at a fair price. It isn’t even a bad idea to bet Johnson (-170) to simply make the cut. He has started strong in his recent tournaments; it’s his play in the final round or two which has been an issue.
