2025 Mexico Open at VidantaWorld, Picks & Predictions: Best PGA Bets

This week’s PGA Tour event features the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld. It’s the fourth edition, held at the par 71 Vidanta Vallarta Course, running over 7,400 yards. It’s going to be a week with some impressive scores and a ton of birdies, with most of the 132 golfers in this field not household names.

The betting favorite, Akshay Bhatia (+1400), placed solo fourth during his only previous outing at this event back in 2023. Other notable names valued by oddsmakers to win outright include Rasmus Hojgaard (+1800), Kurt Kitayama (+2000), Samuel Stevens (+2200), Patrick Rodgers (+2200), and Stephan Jaeger (+2500). There’s a lot of value on this outright betting board compared to recent tournaments that had bigger names like Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy as short as +280 and +700.

My Genesis Invitational best bets failed to hit, going 0-3 at Torrey Pines South. Ludvig Aberg’s second PGA Tour win happened after the Swede got red-hot on the back-nine, taking advantage of Maverick McNealy’s missed birdie putt on the 72nd hole, which would’ve forced a playoff. Robert MacIntyre missed the cut, never giving himself a chance to contend for a top-ten finish at +350. Taylor Pendrith posted a T50 finish at +6, never coming close to a top 20 finishing position. The golf special I took on FanDuel had a real chance to cash at +125 odds, however, Collin Morikawa and Hideki Matsuyama were unable to join Justin Thomas in the top-ten, sliding just outside.

Let’s try to get back on track with a fresh start at VidantaWorld with a field full of hungry and talented golfers eager to prove themselves on one of the PGA Tour’s least difficult tracks. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more free bets and weekly PGA Tour analysis.

Mexico Open at VidantaWorld: Best Bets

These plays are 1 unit and 0.50 units. Or 1% and 0.5% of your betting bankroll. Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook.

End of Round 1 Top 10

DraftKings Sportsbook offers up a lot of fun betting markets that aren’t accessible on other sportsbooks, including End of Round 1 finishing position props. Here, I’ll bet half a unit on Patrick Rodgers to record a top-ten finish in Round 1 at 4-1 odds.

Rodgers was the solo leader on Sunday at Torrey Pines during The Genesis Invitational but couldn’t avoid a stretch of bogeys, leading to a T3 finish at -1-under-par. In 2025, Rodgers has not played well early, averaging 71 in Round 1 thus far. I believe this changes at the Mexico Open, where he went -5-under-par in Round 1 last year.

He’s going to be fueled by his collapse and the potential to secure his first PGA Tour win, so at +400, which is tied for second shortest odds in this betting market, I’ll back Rodgers’ driver and scrambling ability to manufacture a strong start at VidantaWorld on Thursday.

Pick: Patrick Rodgers (+400)

Top 30 Finish

Let’s stick with the finishing position props but pivot to the full 72-hole betting market and back Harry Hall to post a top-30 finish. The Englishman has cooled off after a hot start in 2025 but he didn’t play at The Genesis Invitational this past week, giving himself rest and time to prepare for the Mexico Open.

Hall logged a T33 finish at VidantaWorld in 2024, just outside of where we need him to land this time around. He’s ranked seventh strokes gained: putting and hits 71.9 percent of greens in regulation. Hall is 16th scrambling and top-50 for hole proximity, so at -115 odds, I’m willing to bet a unit on him to record his fourth top-30 finish in seven events.

Pick: Harry Hall (-115)

Top 10 Finish (Including Ties)

This is a chalky play but I don’t see Akshay Bhatia struggling much at a course he played very well on during his debut. The Californian is coming off of a T9 finish at a much more difficult Torrey Pines South track and ranks 12th SG: Putting, 41st on approach, and hits greens in regulation at over 72 percent.

VidantaWorld is suited to Bhatia’s game, which is why he’s the current betting favorite at 14-1. Averaging 4.5 birdies per round and ranking 36th scrambling, the lefty still holds solid value in the top 10 finishing position market. Let’s bet a full unit on Bhatia to record back-to-back top-ten finishes in the warm climates of southern Mexico.

Pick: Akshay Bhatia (+160)
