2025 PGA Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions: Brian Harman

Rory McIlroy's thrilling victory at The Masters last month set up some compelling storylines for the second major of the season, the 2025 PGA Championship, which will be played this week at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.

McIlroy completed the career grand slam with his win at Augusta. If he wins again this week, he'll be halfway to a true grand slam. McIlroy has fared well at Quail Hollow throughout his career, having won four tournaments there. It's a course that favors big hitters — right up McIlroy's alley.

But McIlroy isn't even the favorite this week. That would be Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 player in the world. Scheffler cruised to an eight-shot victory at his most recent event, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

Will golf fans be treated to a duel between McIlroy and Scheffler? Or will other top players intervene? Defending PGA champ Xander Schauffele is certainly capable of repeating. Justin Thomas and Ludvig Aberg have been hot lately. LIV Tour star Bryson DeChambeau has been frisky in recent majors, and other LIV players — Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Tyrrell Hatton and others — could contend.

Course History

Brian Harman hasn’t seriously contended at a PGA Championship, but his best finish in this event came at Quail Hollow — a tie for 13th in 2017. Harman has three top-15 finishes in the last six Wells Fargo Championships held at Quail Hollow.

Recent Form

After a sluggish start to the season, Harman has heated up over the last month or so. He won the Valero Texas Open by three strokes in early April, then finished third at the RBC Heritage a couple of weeks later. Harman tied for 46th last week at the Truist Championship, finishing -2.

Betting Outlook: 2025 PGA Championship Predictions

Harman has won a PGA Tour event this season, and he’s also won a major, hoisting the Claret Jug in 2023 after winning the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool. But it’s hard to see a short hitter like Harman winning at Quail Hollow, which will play to a hefty 7,626 yards as a par-71 this week.

Harman ranks 166th in driving distance, averaging 291.1 yards. But given how well Harman has played lately, and how capably he’s handled Quail Hollow in recent appearances there, it’s reasonable to bet him for a top-10 finish (+750) or a top-25 finish (+320).
