2025 PGA Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions: Jon Rahm
Rory McIlroy's thrilling victory at The Masters last month set up some compelling storylines for the second major of the season, the 2025 PGA Championship, which will be played this week at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.
McIlroy completed the career grand slam with his win at Augusta. If he wins again this week, he'll be halfway to a true grand slam. McIlroy has fared well at Quail Hollow throughout his career, having won four tournaments there. It's a course that favors big hitters — right up McIlroy's alley.
But McIlroy isn't even the favorite this week. That would be Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 player in the world. Scheffler cruised to an eight-shot victory at his most recent event, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
Will golf fans be treated to a duel between McIlroy and Scheffler? Or will other top players intervene? Defending PGA champ Xander Schauffele is certainly capable of repeating. Justin Thomas and Ludvig Aberg have been hot lately. LIV Tour star Bryson DeChambeau has been frisky in recent majors, and other LIV players — Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Tyrrell Hatton and others — could contend.

Course History
The PGA Championship has not been good to Jon Rahm recently, and he hasn't been a contender in this tournament in a long time. In his last six appearances, he's finished outside of the top 45 or has missed the cut in four.
This will be his third trip to Quail Hollow, and he's had some mixed results. The veteran missed the cut at the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship but did finish T-7 at a LIV event, which is only a 54-hole event.
Recent Form
Rahm has been one of the more consistent players on the LIV Golf Tour. Since joining LIV, he's never finished outside of the top 10, and finished in the top seven in six of his seven tournaments. His first PGA major went well this year, rebounding from the disastrous 2024 Masters Tournament, where he finished T-45 and T-14 in 2025
Betting Outlook: 2025 PGA Championship Predictions
While he's been one of the best on the LIV Tour, that hasn't transferred to PGA tournaments. Since joining LIV, Rahm has finished in the top 10 in one PGA event. He has the talent to be a contender, but it's tough to trust him in this 72-hole format.
