2025 PGA Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions: Shane Lowry

Rory McIlroy's thrilling victory at The Masters last month set up some compelling storylines for the second major of the season, the 2025 PGA Championship, which will be played this week at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.

McIlroy completed the career grand slam with his win at Augusta. If he wins again this week, he'll be halfway to a true grand slam. McIlroy has fared well at Quail Hollow throughout his career, having won four tournaments there. It's a course that favors big hitters — right up McIlroy's alley.

But McIlroy isn't even the favorite this week. That would be Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 player in the world. Scheffler cruised to an eight-shot victory at his most recent event, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

Will golf fans be treated to a duel between McIlroy and Scheffler? Or will other top players intervene? Defending PGA champ Xander Schauffele is certainly capable of repeating. Justin Thomas and Ludvig Aberg have been hot lately. Course History

Quail Hollow has not been kind to Shane Lowry as he's struggled in all of his appearances at the course. He's competed in three Wells Fargo Championships and has never shot better than +2. In the last PGA Championship at the course in 2017, he shot a +5 and finished 48th.

Recent Form

Lowry has been inconsistent throughout the year. While he has three top-10 finishes, he also has two outside the top 30. He was very close to winning his first tournament of the year. At the Truist Championship, he had his first win in five years locked up on the final few holes, but he would bogey two of the final three, eventually losing to Sepp Straka in a playoff.

Betting Outlook: 2025 PGA Championship Predictions

A Truist Championship win would have been great momentum heading to the course he's had a terrible history at. Having to turn around just days after choking away a win could see him struggle. He could be worth a top-40 finish bet with a lot of juice, but you could also consider a top-30 finish wager.
