2025 PGA Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tony Finau

Rory McIlroy's thrilling victory at The Masters last month set up some compelling storylines for the second major of the season, the 2025 PGA Championship, which will be played this week at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.

McIlroy completed the career grand slam with his win at Augusta. If he wins again this week, he'll be halfway to a true grand slam. McIlroy has fared well at Quail Hollow throughout his career, having won four tournaments there. It's a course that favors big hitters — right up McIlroy's alley.

But McIlroy isn't even the favorite this week. That would be Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 player in the world. Scheffler cruised to an eight-shot victory at his most recent event, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

Will golf fans be treated to a duel between McIlroy and Scheffler? Or will other top players intervene? Defending PGA champ Xander Schauffele is certainly capable of repeating. Course History

Tony Finau has not finished inside the top 15 in any of his previous seven attempts at Quail Hollow. Finau has made the cut in his past four PGA Championships, though, including a top-10 finish in 2021. More recently, though, Finau missed the cut at the 2025 Masters.

Finau has been a little boom or bust this year. He has an equal number of four missed cuts and four top-15 finishes. Finau finished in 15th place at the Truist Championship this past weekend.

At +11000, a winning bet on Finau is a massive longshot. Considering his play this season and his history at Quail Hollow, Finau is a stay away this week.

Finau has the talent to win, but until we see some consistent play from him, any bet on him is just betting on his past success rather than his recent play.
