McIlroy completed the career grand slam with his win at Augusta. If he wins again this week, he'll be halfway to a true grand slam. McIlroy has fared well at Quail Hollow throughout his career, having won four tournaments there. It's a course that favors big hitters — right up McIlroy's alley.

But McIlroy isn't even the favorite this week. That would be Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 player in the world. Scheffler cruised to an eight-shot victory at his most recent event, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

Xander Schauffele finally got the major monkey off his back with his outright win at the 2024 PGA Championship. Schauffele was also part of the team that won the 2022-23 Presidents Cup at Quail Hollow. He placed solo runner-up finishes at the 2023 and 2024 Wells Fargo Championship held at Quail Hollow, too.

Recent Form

Schauffele has quietly churned out four consecutive top-20 finishes since the Valspar Championship. He logged a T-11 finish at the Truist Championship on Sunday. Schauffele ranks seventh in SG: Approach.

Schauffele holds decent value as the defending champion. He's +1800 to defend his title at Quail Hollow, where he's posted a pair of runner-up finishes in the last two seasons.
