2025 PGA Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions
The storyline for this week's PGA Championship is delicious. The second major of the season sets up as a heavyweight clash between the top two players in the world, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, who are both at the height of their powers right now.
No. 1-ranked Scheffler won his most recent tournament, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, by eight strokes. The No. 2-ranked McIlroy has won three tournaments this season, including The Masters last month.
But the PGA Championship field has some other intriguing contenders, too. Here are my favorite bets for this week's event at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Rory McIlroy Outright Winner (+450)
Rory McIlroy has been in superb form this season, and Quail Hollow is a venue where he's had great success throughout his career.
McIlroy has won three of the eight PGA Tour events he's entered this season: The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM, THE PLAYERS Championship and The Masters. He's finished no worse than 17th in any event this year.
Quail Hollow fits McIlory like a comfortable pair of slippers. He got his first PGA Tour victory there in 2010, winning the Wells Fargo Championship by four strokes. He has since won the Wells Fargo Championship three more times - in 2015, 2021 and 2024.
McIlroy almost had a fifth Wells Fargo win but lost a sudden-death playoff to Rickie Fowler in 2012. McIlroy set the Quail Hollow course record with a 62 in 2010, and then broke his own record when he shot a 61 there in 2015.
McIlroy ranks first in strokes gained off the tee and second in strokes gained tee to green.
Although the odds are short for McIlroy, the combination of recent form and course fit is irresistible. I'm betting on him to win.
Xander Schauffele Outright Winner (+2000)
A fierce competitor who's at his best on tough courses, Xander Schauffele has the firepower to duke it out with Scottie Scheffler and/or Rory McIlroy.
Schauffele is the defending PGA Championship winner after beating Bryson DeChambeau by a stroke last year at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Schauffele also won the Open Championship last season. He's a tiger in majors.
The 31-year-old Schauffele has gotten comfortable at Quail Hollow, with second-place finishes at the Wells Fargo Championship in each of the last two years.
A lot of golf fans would love to see a head-to-head battle between Scheffler and McIlroy this week, but Schauffele could ruin that plot. He's a solid investment at 20-1 odds.
Corey Conners: Top-10 Finish (+190)

One of the best ball-strikers in the world, Corey Conners has finished inside the top 20 in seven out of 12 PGA Tour events this season, including five top-10 finishes. He finished eighth in the first major of the season, The Masters.
Conners finished eighth in the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow in 2023 and was eighth there in 2024.
With his balky putting, Conners isn't a great bet for an outright win, but I love getting nearly 2-1 odds on a top-20 finish for such a consistent player.
Jake Knapp Outright Winner (+25000) & Top-5 Finish (+3000)

Jake Knapp is a player on the rise. He's a bomber off the tee, who ranks 31st in driving distance and won't be daunted by a lengthy Quail Hollow layout that will play to more than 7,600 yards. Knapp is also good with the flatstick, ranking 24th in strokes gained putting.
Throw a buck or two on a Knapp outright at 250-1 odds and throw a little more on a top-five finish at 30-1. He is a sleeper longshot with the potential to provide a big payoff.
Ryo Hisatsune Outright Winner (+45000) & Top-10 Finish (+2000) & Top-20 Finish (+700)

The Japanese import is quietly having a solid season, with top-20 finishes in half of his last 10 PGA Tour events. Ryo Hisatsune ranks 27th in total driving efficiency, 39th in strokes gained total, and 41st in strokes gained tee to green.
He is a dark horse who warrants consideration at such extremely long odds.
