2025 The Genesis Invitational, Picks & Predictions: Best PGA Bets
Torrey Pines’ South Course is the site for the upcoming Genesis Invitational during the latest PGA Tour event. It’s a Signature Event, which means there will be a much smaller field of the Tour’s top-ranked golfers. However, there is a 36-hole cut line enforced, despite playing as a Signature Event, meaning low 50 and ties can advance to play on Saturday and Sunday.
Stretching over 7,700 yards in distance, this par 72 is a beast to conquer, with four-inch rough, quick Poa Annua greens and ribbon-thin fairways. Wind and rain are forecast earlier in the event before more ideal conditions move on for the third and fourth rounds. Harris English just won the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines a few weeks ago and returns at 90-1 odds to win outright.
Last week at the WM Phoenix Open, my PGA best bets went 0-3 despite targeting three different betting markets. Let’s aim for a much better start at The Genesis Invitational, teeing off on Thursday morning from Torrey Pines South. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more free bets and weekly PGA Tour analysis.

Top 10 Finishing Position
I’m starting aggressively by targeting Scottish golfer Robert MacIntyre to record a top-10 finish at +350 odds this weekend at Torrey Pines. MacIntyre didn’t compete at the Farmers Insurance Open when Torrey Pines South was previously in rotation, but he’s coming off of a T6 finish at TPC Scottsdale.
Ranked 10th SG: Off-the-Tee, 34th SG: Approach, and 26th in total driving, including 20th for accuracy, he’ll hold a big edge navigating these long, narrow fairways. MacIntyre is also sixth for converting greens in regulation and 23rd in proximity while sitting 10th in both scoring average and birdie average in 2025. Let’s stake half a unit on the Scotsman to record a top-10 finish and continue playing well during his debut at Torrey Pines this season.
Pick: Robert MacIntyre (+350)
Top 20 Finishing Position
Taylor Pendrith at +130 to record a top-2o finish is too tempting to pass up. The Canadian golfer broke through with his first career win in 2024 and has kept the momentum going, recording a pair of top-ten finishes in 2025.
Pendrith recorded a T7 at the Farmers Insurance Open three weeks ago and has gone T13-T45-T7-T9 in all four events played thus far. He hasn’t competed since a T9 at Pebble Beach, meaning Pendrith will be well-rested. Ranked third SG: Off-the-Tee, 38th SG: Approach, and fifth for total driving, Pendrith’s game translates well to Torrey Pines South, which is why he wound up with a top-ten finish at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Let’s bet a full unit on Pendrith to finish inside the top 20 at +130 odds during The Genesis Invitational.
Pick: Taylor Pendrith (+130)
Golf Specials
I’m digging into the Golf Specials betting market on FanDuel Sportsbook and taking Any 2 of Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, and Hideki Matsuyama to finish in the top 10, including ties. Matsuyama won this event, albeit at a different golf course, Riviera, in 2024. Matsuyama is one of the best iron players on the PGA Tour and is a phenomenal scrambler; we’ll just need to see him find more fairways. He logged a T32 at the Farmers Insurance Open after two rounds, going 75 and 76, so hopefully, he’ll be better prepared for the conditions this time.
Justin Thomas impressed with his finish at TPC Scottsdale, going 6-under-par to surge into a top-5 finish. He’ll make his debut at Torrey Pines South, where he’s wound up inside the top-25 on four of five trips. His putter tends to be the weakness, but driving and approach shots make him a strong contender to wind up inside of the top ten this week.
Finally, Collin Morikawa is a great ball-striker and is lethal tee-to-green. Putting isn’t his best skillset, but the Stimpmeter predicts 13-foot velocity on the Poa Annua greens, while his driving accuracy should keep him out of the four-inch rough. Morikawa is my favorite to place top-ten or better at Torrey Pines South this week, followed by Matsuyama, then Thomas.
We only need two of three to cash this ticket, so at +125 odds, let’s bet one more unit on this Golf Special prop.
Pick: Any 2 of Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas & Hideki Matsuyama to Finish in the Top 10 (Incl. Ties) (+125)
