2025 U.S. Open Picks & Predictions: Top 5 & Top 10 Bets
Oakmont Country Club hosts the 2025 U.S. Open this week. The 125th edition of this major will be played on one of the most difficult par 70s in the country, with five-inch rough and lightning-fast greens.
Betting favorites have dominated at majors in 2025. Rory McIlroy finally won The Masters to complete his career major grand slam and Scottie Scheffler recorded a five-stroke win at Quail Hollow Club during the PGA Championship last month.
Instead of targeting golfers in the outright winner betting market, let’s dive into some top 5 and top 10 finishing position prop bets to place ahead of Round 1 at Oakmont on Thursday morning.

Top 5 and Top 10 Bets for 2025 U.S. Open
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Shane Lowry – Top 10 (+280)
We’ve watched Shane Lowry post a pair of runner-up finishes in 2025. The Irishman did this at Pebble Beach during Rory McIlroy’s win, while blowing a lead down the stretch at the Truist Championship with poor putting, handing the win to Sepp Straka.
Lowry’s game is built for Oakmont. He’s ranked fifth total strokes gained, which includes second SG: Approach, 28th driving accuracy and first hole proximity. Lowry is also 24th scrambling and 17th on par 4s this season.
Lowry has yet to play well at a major this season but I predict that changes in Pittsburgh this week. Let’s bet one unit on Lowry to record a top 10 finish at +280 odds.
Keegan Bradley – Top 10 (+450)
We’re landing even bigger odds on Keegan Bradley’s Top 10 Finishing position prop at +450. The Ryder Cup captain is coming off of back-to-back finishes inside the top 10 at the PGA Championship and Memorial Tournament, which were both difficult courses in terms of birdie to bogey disparity.
Bradley is ranked 15th total strokes gained. He’s 14th SG: Approach, 19th total driving and 22nd proximity. Despite a faulty short game, Bradley is 26th putting average and 17th on par 4s in 2025. Two T10 finishes in 12 appearances at the U.S. Open.
Let’s bet a half unit (0.50) on Bradley to string together his third straight top 10 finish with a lucrative +450 price ahead of the U.S. Open.
Ludvig Åberg – Top 5 (+450)
I haven’t bit on Ludvig Åberg much in 2025. However, the young Swede did grab the outright win with a late charge during The Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines South earlier this season.
His game is rounding into form right now, posting T16 at the Memorial Tournament and a T13 at the RBC Canadian Open this past weekend. Åberg is a bomber off-the-tee, ranked 19th total driving, including 23rd driving distance. He’s 10th in proximity and fourth on approach shots from 200+ yards.
Irons and the putter have been the worst clubs in Åberg’s bag this year. However, there’s enough good parts of his game, combined with current form, to warrant another half-unit wager placed on a Top 5 finishing position prop at +450 odds this week.
Sepp Straka – Top 5 (+600)
Sepp Straka will look to keep his momentum rolling into Oakmont. The Austrian golfer has not yet recorded a T20 finish at four U.S. Open appearances, including a T56 at Pinehurst No. 2 in 2024.
Straka has two outright wins in 2025, including recently in Philadelphia at the Truist Championship. His last outing yielded a solo third-place finish at the Memorial Tournament.
Ranks high in many metrics, like third SG: Approach, 17th SG: Putting, 11th driving accuracy, fifth proximity and first for greens in regulation at 71.4 percent. Straka is second in scoring average, seventh on par 4s, and also leads the PGA Tour in birdie average.
Driving distance is the only knock on his game right now but his accuracy will prevail at a demanding course like Oakmont. Let’s bet a full unit on Straka to record his fifth top 5 finish at +600 odds during the 2025 U.S. Open.
